How We Work

A planning session with the client.

An IS principal directs each project, so that our clients receive the undivided attention of our top professionals. Our home-office staff handles interpretation planning, exhibit development, and project management. Our flexible business model allows us to bring in professionals from many fields to meet each client’s specific needs. For design, fabrication, photography, and other services we turn to one of our associate firms. Some of the working relationships between the firms go back more than fifteen years.

The same team is involved in every phase of a project, from initial planning to final installation. With planners, marketing specialists, interpreters, researchers, architects, estimators, designers, and fabricators working together from the very beginning, planning and implementation are closely coordinated. This approach maximizes efficiency, reduces miscommunication, and minimizes delays and errors. Plus, because the firms are experienced at working together, we have developed the methods, approach, and working vocabulary that translate into cost-effective project management.

Our consortium of firms provides our clients with a wide variety of interdisciplinary services. We can offer a broad range of highly qualified planning, exhibit design, and museum professionals, including specialists from allied fields. These fields include visitor services, marketing, strategic business planning, historical research, collections management, architectural design, audio/visual production, model making, and exhibit fabrication.
